Fearless Moving Forward: Succeed by Harnessing the Power of Thought

Is it possible to give off good vibes in a bad economy?

We continually give off vibrations of energy whenever we think and feel all day long anyway – good or bad. These vibrations can be picked up and received by other people. That’s why people say, “he has good vibes,” or “she gives off bad vibes.”

If we’re feeling excited, enthusiastic, passionate, happy, joyful, loving, appreciative, abundant, prosperous, relaxed and peaceful, we are giving off positive vibrations – and it has been proven that our cells actually vibrate at a higher, faster level.

On the other hand, if we’re feeling bored, anxious, worried, confused, sad, lonely, hurt, angry, resentful, guilty, disappointed, frustrated, overwhelmed, stressed out, or depressed, then we are giving off negative vibrations – and our cells vibrate at a slower level.

We reap what we sow. As the reaper of our own harvest, we then learn both by suffering and bliss: Good thoughts bear good fruit; and bad thoughts bear bad fruit.

So, how can we give off better vibes and harness the power of thought to impact our success in today’s economy?

Success is a choice, not a destiny.

Our lives are the sum of all our thoughts and these thoughts shape the entire course of life. To be successful, healthy and happy, it is imperative to be aware of our thinking patterns and be the master our thoughts.

It’s all about taking personal responsibility for our choices. We’re always at choice…with every daily activity as well as with our attitudes. Fear is a choice. Stress is a choice. Being too busy is a choice. Gratitude is a choice. Everything is a choice! And, with choice comes true personal power.

When we don’t take responsibility for the choices we’re making because it’s “the way we’ve always done it”, aren’t we just working against ourselves? This is “unconscious living”.

Now’s the time to start making choices that allow you to thrive even through the economic and political changes we’re experiencing today. There are countless moments of choice when we can incorporate healthier ways of thinking and being that support our best selves and attract in better results.

Expand or Become Expendable

It’s so important to get a vision beyond our unconscious thinking patterns, circumstances and mental conditioning. Most people have a tendency to “settle”. They stop experimenting, developing, growing and pushing and challenging themselves. In this global economy, that mindset is not longer an option.

More importantly, scientists have shown that our cells actually begin to die when we stop growing and learning. And according to speaker and author Les Brown, “We must expand or we are expendable.”

When we are simply responding unconsciously to what happens around us, we tend to stay “stuck” in our current condition. This is why most people’s lives never seem to change very much. They get stuck in a repeating cycle of recreating the same reality over and over by the energy they are sending out.

Mastering Your Mind

It is possible to get out of this vicious cycle of unconscious living and create what we want instead of continually recreating what we already have. Consider this simple three step process that you can begin immediately.

Step 1: Identify what you truly desire and work toward eliminating the negative.

It is important to focus on what you do want rather than what you don’t want. For example, if you don’t want illness, don’t focus on it. Focus on your health—see it in your mind, feel it, know it. Exercise. Get enough sleep. Eat right. Laugh. Spend time in nature. Be with those you love. Pray. Do activities and think thoughts that heal, rather than harm.

You also must state what you truly desire in the positive and filter out the words “don’t”, “not” and “no”. Remember, your mind works in pictures and if you say I don’t want to be mad, you are creating the picture of “mad” and thus the vibration of being mad. You must create the opposite of what you don’t want.

Step 2: Raise your energy level.

Stage two is about creating an energetic match for what you want to have. How would you be feeling if you already had those things—the perfect job, the perfect relationship, the amount of money that serves the best expression of you, the inner peace and freedom associated with being on purpose?

Your job is to identify what makes you feel good emotionally and do more of it, rather than to allow yourself to stay stuck in negative emotions of fear, lack, scarcity, anxiety, guilt, pride, apathy or shame.

Get rid obligations than drain you, use your planner to re-structure your day, and create space for some of the things that bring you peace and happiness – such as exercise, time outdoors, yoga, a date night with your spouse, or reading a good book.

Affirmations, meditation and prayer are important components in raising your personal energy level. For example, some affirmations could include:

“All things lead to my success.”

“I accomplish my goals with effortless ease.”

“I am a child of God and am always connected to this energy.”

“I learn to love more and more each day.”

Affirmations can also be statements of gratitude and appreciation: “Thank you, God, for bringing success/love/health (you choose) into my life.”

Using affirmations as part of your daily success practices will support a continued movement toward your best life. As part of a short meditation practice before you get up and before you retire at the end of the day, these habits will form a structure to keep you in integrity and support you in the process of living an exceptional life.

Step 3. Release it and allow it.

In this third step you simply release your affirmation, and have faith things will be taken care of it. But you must abstain from any doubt. If you doubt, you are pushing your vision away and you end up with contradictory messages. The faster you remove your resistance, the faster your dreams can be realized.

This process gives new meaning to “having faith”. As your small successes build into bigger ones, you will learn to trust in the process. Having faith will become easier.

Having an Attitude of Gratitude

An Attitude of Gratitude is one of the highest emotional states possible – a state of abundance.  Some people say it is one of the strongest medicines we can take to help build an immune system bombarded with stress and uncertainty.

The practice of gratitude softens the body’s biochemistry, facilitates the production of seratonin (feel good hormone), eases us out of the rushing flow of adrenaline, and allows us to heal faster. Simply put, gratitude makes us happier and healthier. We also attract better circumstances, results and opportunities into our lives.

When we feel grateful, we interact with other people from our fullness; they feel appreciated and are attracted by our energy. Resentment, bitterness, and being in victim-mode tends to repel people, and we experience less support from others. Similarly, when our lack of gratitude leads to helplessness and disease, we feel “ripped off” that our health is going downhill while others are enjoying themselves.

The energy of Gratitude also allows us to be more PRESENT. Learning to go into the “NOW” can liberate us from our past and future worries.  It can transform thinking.

That’s what the present is—a present!!!   The point of power is in the present moment – AND gratitude brings us there!

The words of Marc Allen sums this up in his classic, As A Man Thinketh,

“There is no physician like cheerful thought for dissipating the ills of the body; there is no comforter to compare with goodwill for dispersing the shadows of grief and sorrow. To live continually in thoughts of ill will, cynicism, suspicion and envy, is to be confined in a self-made prison cell. But to think well of all, to be cheerful with all, to patiently learn to find the good in all – such unselfish thoughts are the very portals of heaven. To dwell day by day in thoughts of peace toward every creature will bring abounding peace to their possessor.”

Remember, success and happiness are a choice!
